Top reasons to try yoga:
Physical

• Yoga improves strength and flexibility regardless of the condition you’re in.
• Yoga offers pain relief for many chronic conditions.
• There is evidence to support yoga as a method of preventing and shedding
extra weight gain in middle age.
• Yoga stimulates lymphatic circulation thereby enhancing immune function
and cardiovascular conditioning by lowering resting heart rate and
   increasing endurance.
Mental

• Yoga teaches presence. Mindfulness paves the way for mental clarity,
improved focus and concentration, increased patience, decreased reactivity,
and a sense of peace of mind.
• Yoga releases muscular and mental tension.
Emotional

• Yoga modulates stress response, promotes relaxation, improves mood,
and can be helpful for anxiety and depression. On a physiologic level,
doing yoga reduces cortisol, a hormone released in response to stress,
thereby allowing relief from the psychological experience and physical
effects of stress on the body.
• The breathing exercises done during yoga provide an opportunity to
slow and deepen breath pattern, affecting experience of and response to
anxiety –techniques can be practiced off the mat as a natural way to manage
   stress and anxiety.
